Quiet day, had Shirley come over and dye my hair and give me a petty.

What can I say about the Festival del Torro!
CRAZY!!!
So the basic feel of it is like any country fair (found myself remembering the Blueberry Jamboree!), bouncy blow up castles for the kids, rides, a bunch of food vendors...had some kind of deep fried dough with sugar on it and some fried rice dish with veggies...
Then the "Arena" for the bulls opens up, you buy a ticket and go in and sit in stands made out of wood nailed together by hopefully competent people! (Remember nothing is inspected here!!)
Then all the riders and 2 cowboys on horses come out and get introduced.
Then the first rider is up, here's where the show starts! First rider there's about 10 local guys in the ring dressed normally (They are the rodeo clowns!) when the rider falls off these boys start taking runs at the bull! Pissing the bull off until he starts to take runs at them, they can sure climb the fence fast!
Finally they get the bull into the pen and the next rider is up.
By about the third rider there are about 20-30 guys in the ring, now we have some tourists joining in on the fun!
I soon realized this is the show, not the bull riding but the dumb men messing with the bull trying not to get horned!

What a fun afternoon, Barbara works a split shift at the Hula, she is off from 3-6pm, so I met her at the Hula and we walked over to Hacienda Del Mar a hotel up around the back, 14 rooms nice pool and if you buy a beer they let you use their nice big pool...
So we had a few beers and some lunch and a nice swim...tunes were excellent! Bryan Adams LOL
Barbara went back to work and I came home...
This afternoon we are heading to Samara for the Festival del Toro (Rodeo), (Barbara is off today)
Should be an interesting one!

Another lovely evening...met up with my favorite guests Steve and Cynthia (my first guests back in November) for dinner in Samara at Esmerelda.
I had a fish fillet with an avocado cream sauce it was to die for!!! And for dessert vanilla ice cream with Cafe Rica...Yummy!
Was really nice to see them again
I had the cab drop me off at the Hula for a night cap LOL
Turned into a few Sarpes! (Tico for last one and I am out of here!)
Seems all the girls were out last night, the bar was full of women not sure where all the boys went to but it was a fun night!
Less than two weeks until mom and Donna are here!!

Another lovely day in paradise!
Took the bus to Samara as I needed to get a cell phone, then had a little salad and a beer on the beach before heading home...
When I got home I found out what the rain does, it brings out small crabs LOL
I got home and saw one small crab by the front door but did not think anything of it, threw on my bathing suit, opened up a few doors and windows and went for a swim, when I came out of the pool to go for a drink of water I heard something scratching and thought God what is that critter going to be! It was a crab in the house, then I looked around and realized there were a dozen or so in the house LOL
Here's a shot of the last one I chased out of the house!
Then there were some visitors by the pool!

Saw something I had not seen since December 5th in CR, RAIN!!
We had a nice 30 minute downpour around 6 pm last night.
How refreshing, I have never seen so many people smile when it rained before!
Anabella was off yesterday so she came by the pool for a couple of hours and then we went for dinner at El Colibri. We had this mixed grill for two, wow it was delicious!
Steak, chicken, Chorizo sausage and fillet with salad and fries Yummy!!!
As we were leaving the restaurant Theo (owns a cute B&B) was driving by and stopped to chat.
The three of us ended up at El Ancla in Samara for a nightcap on the beach.
My life is good my friends!

Well yesterday was a nice day!
Barbara took me to an old down and dirty dive bar in Samara called Pablito's that I have been hearing about for some time...With your beer you get a "Boca" which means snack, it's a small cup of stew basically. So for every beer you get chicken or beef or chicken livers... Had 3 each and we were full LOL
We then ran a few errands and came back to the house and cooked some pasta.
And some words of wisdom from Gwen!

This morning up early went for a swim in the pool and made myself a nice little breakfast of fresh fruits and croissant.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!!!!!
What a great evening last night! Went up to Hula Jungla as they had live music, had a few beers with friends and then had a sleep over with the girls Barbara and Anabella, got to the house around 11pm, had a swim and chatted for a while. This morning I cooked them a nice big breakfast and we swam in the pool some more, they just went in to work, I am going to curl up on the deck a read a book and take a nap!!
It's a good life!!

Went over to Hula Jungla for pizza and a few beers last night so I had cold pizza for breakfast this morning!
But I ate it by this gorgeous pool!
Staff here are lovely Marvis and Afro.

Anne & Minnow left today, what a sweet couple, really enjoyed them!
So then around 6pm or so Brooks and I were going to go to El Colibri for dinner when a car pulled in...it was Dennis the owner...So he had already given me my 30 days notice that he was coming back on April 2 and that I was done. So he came two week early...packing up in the am!

Bummer day today, Hollie is heading home but her husband Brooks doesn't fly back until the 16th.

another hot one!
Temperatures are up around 35-40 C (95-100 F) luckily there's a heck of a wind but it is warm!
Hollie and Brooks are gone fishing today with Rob hopefully they come back with something to cook up tonight!
Minnow an Anne are off to Samara to hang out and my other guests went off on an adventure in their rental car...
I am just trying to keep the leaves out of of the pool with these winds!!!!!

Ran into my very first guests Steve & Cynthia today in Samara, they had said they would be back for a month in March as they rented a condo.
We are supposed to meet up for dinner while they are here at El Colibri!

Guests from Minnesota are relaxing today after many adventures, canopy tour, horsback riding and fishing...
Well they did not relax for long LOL Dropped them in Samara around 10-11am and they returned around 5pm in a cab, had visited a few establishments along the way...Jackson hopped right into the pool so I felt the need to give him a child's life preserver...it was not for his head!!
We all have a great Dorado fish dinner that Xinia cooked up for everyone.

Well the gang from Minnesota went out fishing with Francisco today. So tonight a big fish dinner with Corbina and Tuna. They invited Jerry & Diane to join them so it should be a fun night!

Wow March!
Last night was a late night but a good one!
Hollie's husband Brooks finally arrived from Afganistan, William picked him up luckily he was already a the airport but was going to have to go out of his way up the mountain so he called at about 11:30pm and we shot down to the beach to pick him up. It was a cool moment!
Weather is very hot last few days we are up in the mid 30's now with humidity around 50%.
Love it!!
