Bummer Kaibella Restaurant (my fav in Samara) is closing for good on April 30th.
Belle has a second business producing Kambucha and it has taken off to the point of needed to give something up. (I sell her product at the bakery)
I will miss this restaurant a lot but wish Belle all the best!
Reservations made for next Monday night!

Sorry! Internet has been spotty last few days as we got some very needed rain!!

I had another allergic reaction yesterday, started on Saturday evening then progressed Sunday and by Monday was all swollen up on my forehead, right hand and welts all across my stomach, so back to Dr. Freddy, this time he gave me an IV all is good now and I think we have found the cause, so busy thinking it was something I ate when meanwhile I think it may be the bug spray we use at the bakery that is supposed to be non toxic!!!
All is good quiet day off
Just got in from dinner at Arno's...

Just coming off a couple of days off, spent quietly by the pool sipping a few beers, reading a book...just what the doctor ordered!
Went to dinner last night at Kaibella with Arno & Alan & some of their guests from Gatineau & Mtl.
Good time was had by all!

Weather seems even hotter today!

Says with humidex 49 C all I know is it is bloody hot!!!!

Well if the heat won't kick my butt the lack of sleep sure does!!!
Last night when I got home I pulled up to the owner and his gardeners with garden hoses, seems the swamp had been on fire all day. When the fire department was called they were told they were busy and therefore we were on our own LMAO!!!
So started around 4pm, the guys had been fighting it all day trying to keep it away from the fence by the time I got home they seemed to have things under control, they looked exhausted!
So the owner told me if you see anything call me we are going to sit down and eat something and cool off...
BTW it was over 100 F yesterday!
So around 10pm a big flare up came near the fence and the boys came running to get it out...went on most of the night like that...
The last time we had any substantial rain (more than 1 min) was Christmas Eve so it is some dry here!!

Hmmm some crazy heat wave here...I am not sure if I did not notice last year because I wasn't working but this is hot for like 2 weeks now...Today high of 40C (100 F) feels like 50C (122 F) with 98% humidity

Sitting still makes you sweat!!

Good thing I live here!!!

Fun night out last night with Arno at Mama Gui a French restaurant in Samara.
Bad news Kaibella my fav restaurant is closing in less than 2 weeks, will have to go get my fix several times before they close!!
Bakery has been slower but steady...

Going out for lunch on the beach with Brenda, then later with Arno & Alan, let the Bday celebrations begin!

Well looks like I am going to lose the pool...the new Vegan burger joint "Luv Burger" next to me is closing...

Talk about more money than brains...I have no idea where they got their money from but they don't act like they earned it themselves...
Too bad they were getting a bit of momentum going in spite of themselves, but it seems that a new couple of 6 months should not go into business together LOL
Their hours are posted as 11am to 7pm. Closed Mondays.
Often they open late, close early, don't open at all...
They even closed Monday of Easter week and then to my shock on Good Friday as well!
WTF I said, the reply it's a statutory holiday! I replied for employees not small business owners! And this is your day, most of the country does not eat meat today...
This afternoon they closed around 2pm and I asked what's up?
She says we are so over relationship and business!!!!

Last wedding cake this weekend under our belts!

Baby Shower & Small wedding a success last night!

Wedding was for a couple from N.B. and their son, only 3 people. At my suggestion they had their Special Dinner at El Colibri

Just a simple small cake but each layer was a different flavour!

Top chocolate, middle lime-coconut and bottom vanilla with Cafe Rica & Dulce de Leche

Few sea shells the bride colected and soaked in bleach and some flowers taken from Carrillo beach

Then we were off to deliver the other cake for today to Hakuna Matada where I used to live...

Ended up there for a few beers...

Lots of cool balloons brought in

I was invited to join in releasing lanterns into the sky, the pics do not do it justice...

So one more cake to go tonight at El Colibri again, this one is for 30 people!

Well things have slowed down a bit this week...
this weekend is good we have 2 wedding cakes and a baby shower cake!

Back from a too short trip to Granada, Nicaragua.

Had a blast!

Lots of people told us we were crazy crossing the border on Easter Sunday...

As I predicted the border was jammed coming into CR but going to Nicaragua was no line up at all!

Finally through the border had taxi driver stop at first place that sold cold Tona Yummy!!

It was 38 C so after running the gauntlet at the border we were thirsty!

Got checked in to our hotel and went for dinner

Well maybe a few cold Tonas first!

After dinner we went for some ice cream and that did us in!

Back to our hotel and bed time

Next morning we went shopping

Those of you who know me well know shopping is so not my thing,

especially in high 30's C heat!

OK enough bloody shopping is it beer o'clock yet??

Quick beer or 3 on the main drag

Then we found a place that sold quarts of Tona for 38 Cordobas 

(24 Cordobas = $1.00)

Funny how happy cheap cold beer makes us LMAO

Trust me we shared more than one of these big boys!!

Then we found a place to get some hot dogs, 

choice food of afternoon drunks!

Oh so we had a beer while we were waiting for our food

We got a few travellers and headed back to the hotel for a swim in the small pool

and then we all started to drop off like flies!

Nap required!

Later that night we went for another nice dinner

Tuesday morning we were being picked up at 11am so we went for a walk to Lake Nicaragua,
